RDA Study Materials – Dental Practice Act

$75.00

Approximately 10% of the RDA exam is on the laws and ethics governing dentistry, which is the content covered in this course called The Dental Practice Act.

If you have already completed our Dental Practice Act Certification Course (required of all unlicensed dental assistants within the first year of employment), you’ve already covered the material included in this course and may simply need a refresher. There’s no need to pay for it again—just send us an email and we’ll re-open the course you previously completed. Review the content, and you’ll be all set!

If you have not taken our Dental Practice Act (DPA) Certification Course, this class will be very beneficial to help you learn this content and prepare for that part of the RDA exam.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the purpose and scope of the Dental Practice Act and identify the laws and regulations that govern the practice of dentistry in California.

  2. Describe the roles, responsibilities, and licensure requirements for dental professionals, including DA, RDA, RDAEF, RDAEF2, RDH, RDHAP, and dentists.

  3. Identify the allowable and prohibited duties for each dental team member and recognize the required levels of supervision associated with those duties.

  4. Apply ethical and legal standards related to patient care, professional conduct, recordkeeping, informed consent, and patient confidentiality.

  5. Recognize violations and unprofessional conduct, understand mandated reporting requirements, and follow proper procedures for reporting, enforcement, and disciplinary actions.
