RDA Study Materials – Infection Control & OSHA

Approximately 25% of the RDA exam is on Infection Control, so the information in this course will be extremely beneficial as you prepare to take the RDA written exam. 

If you have already completed our Dental Board of California–approved Infection Control Certification, you’ve already covered the material included in this course and may simply need a refresher. There’s no need to pay for it again—just send us an email and we’ll re-open the course you previously completed. Review the content, and you’ll be all set!

If you have not taken our Infection Control Certification course, this class is an excellent way to learn and review the infection control concepts tested on the California RDA exam.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Explain the principles of infection control and the regulatory requirements set by the Dental Board of California, OSHA, and CDC.

2. Describe how diseases are transmitted in dental settings and apply strategies to break the chain of infection.

3. Perform proper sterilization, disinfection, and instrument-processing procedures in compliance with California standards.

4. Select, use, and dispose of personal protective equipment (PPE) and implement engineering and work-practice controls to prevent exposure.

5. Respond appropriately to exposure incidents, including immediate actions, reporting, documentation, and post-exposure follow-up.
