DBC Approved Infection Control Certification
$395.00
This course is approved by the Dental Board of California and meets the requirement for certification in infection control for all unlicensed dental assistants (and “Sterilization Techs”) BEFORE potential exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials (OPIM). We are delighted that you have chosen our course to complete this requirement and know that you will find it interesting and educational!
The didactic portion of this course is online via podcast videos, online quizzes, and a final exam.  Once you have passed the final exam online, the lab portion of this course will be completed in our office in Roseville. Â
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
-
Explain the principles of infection control and the regulatory requirements set by the Dental Board of California, OSHA, and CDC.
-
Describe how diseases are transmitted in dental settings and apply strategies to break the chain of infection.
-
Perform proper sterilization, disinfection, and instrument-processing procedures in compliance with California standards.
-
Select, use, and dispose of personal protective equipment (PPE) and implement engineering and work-practice controls to prevent exposure.
-
Respond appropriately to exposure incidents, including immediate actions, reporting, documentation, and post-exposure follow-up.
At the successful completion of both the didactic and lab portions of this course, you will receive your Infection Control Certification.
